Blog 2: Remote Bird Watching

I've started feeding neighborhood birds since last winter when I noticed some finches sheltering in my garage during a winter storm. I'm now three months into my newfound hobby, and have invested in 4 different feeders, along with a camera to watch them. Last week, I saw my first uncommon bird, a Brown Thrasher, photographed here. A bit larger than a robin, and highly territorial, the Brown Thrasher is closely related to Mockingbirds, and is a giant among the other songbirds that gather at my feeders.
